1What is politics?
I believe that a Politician/Councillor whatever the title is a voice of the people that it represents. In order for them to carry out this role they should keep up to date with their constituent's views. I personally have never been asked my opinion by any local Councillor on any issue. To ensure our Councillors know our views they must speak with us.

Mr X (not real name) pointed out that back in the 70's when he was a kid; he was getting drunk and having sex on the streets and it was accepted as a part of growing up by that society. Today we have become a blame society; there is vast poverty and inequalities in our society. This latest buzz phrase of anti social behaviour is the current scape-goat for inadequate sharing of the countries wealth. The fact is that young people have never been treated as equals and their needs provided for by either regime. But with the advancement of communications over the last century, people's awareness of rights and responsibilities has risen.

1RYAG CALLS on all its members to attend a Question & Answer session on T.B.C . This event will give local councillors/parties the opportunity to answer YOUR questions on issues such as:

  • Voting age
  • Anti social behaviour
  • High unemployment
  • Teen age pregnancy
  • Healthy eating/living
  • Drugs
  • Housing
  • Regeneration

This is your opportunity to bring local politics back to the people, who are our future! May 2004
